God's Golden Threads

by Mary Ellen Smith

God has a thread and needle
For mending broken lives.
He stitches us so carefully
We shouldn't be surprised.

When we're poor and broken.
Our hearts in disrepair
He patches in His mercy,
Embroiders in His care.

Our seams may be unraveling
Our fabric gets so worn,
He makes a brand new garment
Out of something old and torn.

Stitching us with golden threads
Spooled from His heavenly places,
Our garments, shining with love
Reflect upon our faces.

Beautiful ! Very true, and fitting to so many. Excellent writing my friend.

Another member sent this to me in an email, way back when... I've printed it and put it on the wall next to my desk... it's a wonderful reminder, a great pick-me-up, and never fails to put a smile on my face!
