Daydream blind

by Aaron Howard

This insomnia grips my mind, making me feel daydream blind, lost in the maze of sleeplessness and wishing for that release and feeling the burden of this familiar beast...

Spelling out the truth, but at a loss for works.. while I'm stuck dealing with all these lame ass clerks.. twiddling my thumbs to pass the beguiled time lost while spent trying to assume our hidden cost...this cost on soul, this cost on frailty.. this look at our deep inside.. an untimely visit to that one place you thought you could hide..

loss for words, spinning in the mind..
wishing things weren't so daydream blind..
typos in the dark with half open eyes..
daydream blind to tomorrows big surprise..
pay the bills and put your dreams on hold
and live this lifestyle you somehow got sold
speak the truth with jilted tongue
and know how it feels to be counted among..
hug to hold, word to speak
while away the sand slowly starts to leak
travel deep inside your mind..
and hope you don't come out daydream blind.
