He is an image of slow moving human frailty
Holding onto the past
Struggling to maintain dignity and a feeling of self worth

Yet, life is like a candle
Lighted at birth to shine brightly
However, one day, it must inevitably fade
And will eventually simply extinguish itself.

Ahh yes, we begin to die the minute we are born.
