In Solitude by Ronald A PavellasHere is that special place
Now is that timeless moment
Which dwells between my highs and lows
Energetic calmness
Relaxed attention to my inner self
I ponder the differences
In how we poets see the world
You feel pain and longing
I feel stretched, as tugged
From two opposing poles
You want things to change
I need to understand
My place among them
You want life to be beautiful
I need to make sense of it
Between us and beyond us
Is The Whole, the Great Everything
Of which we perceive
Only what our perceptual talents allow
There can be no settled argument
As to who among us sees It True
So, dear poet friend
Let us rejoice that
In combination
And with our peculiar visions
We see more
Than if we observed and wrote...
In solitude.
