The Wall - Part III: the Revelation

by Amanda J Cobb

She cries out to Her love
and then can look no more
fearing the worst,
dreading the end
Meeting only silence

And the silence stretches onwards
still no sound...
no scream,
no horrible laughter
No movement, except for the faint breeze,
warm now against Her skin
Slowly, painfully,
She opens Her eyes
The wall, the cliff - gone
Before Her now only an open meadow
and a cloudless blue sky
Behind Her, a few words, entreating
filling Her with hope
for a voice she had thought silent forever
and suddenly His arms are Her world
No questions,
no reproofs,
no explanations needed,
all having been forgiven and explained
in that one anguished cry from Her heart
Wall and cliff are forgotten,
having faded with the Other
back into the unused recesses of Her mind,
remembered only as mementos of a time
when Love almost died
and She finally freed Her heart.
