Manhattan Aristocrat by Manas MokshaShades and shadow
Brick, asphalt
Steel and concrete
Stoic
moment after moment
Continually in motion
Saturated with qi
Vibrating with the essence of man
Voluminous with pride
Cerebral in cultured erudition
Constantly in motion
Consistently showing class
Audiophillic on the East River
A barge bound for sound
Olfactory bliss on the Lower East Side
always in motion
The delectable flavor of a super taster
A state of understanding
A posh sense of complacency
A keen feel for good company
The drive for living life
The Manhattan man
He walks and talks
Meanders and saunters
Eats peanuts and
Tosses the shells
The Manhattan man
He sleeps the city nights
Like a part of the machine
In dreams, he travels
his knowledge
An everlasting well.

Posted by Agnes Eva on 01/12/04 at 06:48 AM 'why it's a wonder that manhattanite doesn't just pop like a balloon'. that's some supercreature, especially love the peanuts and the tossing of the shells. (having cake & eating it too?, your clever way of saying?) this just crackles with greatness. glad to discover your work here. |
