Eve plucked off the apple,
And Adam chose his Hell.

It's true, I know, of Beauty;
"There's more than meets the eye."
Reach out to possess it and
It looks to be a lie.

But Friendship? Oh, how could this be?
This Soul we've shared for years:
A Lion's grasp, an adder's Tongue?
Sweet poisoned Truth and Fear.
