Goddess Within

by Julie Adams

She wanders
in the orchard of my intuition
Beads the sweat of satisfaction along my
delicately plucked brow
Wipes clean my face
in the face of masquerades
And rests in the shade of my fruits

She roams across the map of my veins
My bones--her stepping stones
In this pond of revelation
Folded into my folds
She nudges at my side
And tells me secrets
In the beat of my pulse

She strikes the match of my nerve
Drinks my confusion with lime
Tastes my temptation in mouthfuls
And chews hard on my impatience, as
My soul, my inferno
Is fed carnal knowledge--
One log at a time

She swims in each breath
Sleeps under my tongue
Slips the sword in my silence
And the silence between my words

But in the silence she is free
Extensively all I am; want to be
As I allow her to live through me
Vicariously

Beautiful! I love the path through the body that you draw so intricately.

... I love your brilliant command of the language!
