The Same Sky

by John D Uzzell

I stand out in the night looking into the sky
Facing west, comes a tear, I begin to cry
My heart is there and she is away
I wait patiently for her return, I long for that day.

She is on the coast with the son she had before
We got married so long ago
The love we have shared and the love still to come
Will never leave our hearts, so much time to go

I face the stars hoping she is looking too
I can hear her say to me
Look at that one, is it near or far?
To travel there for you, there's no distance I couldn't see

Look into the sky my love
Face away from the sea.
Look a little right of where you are
You'll be looking right to me

I love you my dear
You have my heart in your hands
You live deep within my soul
Our footsteps walk together in the sand
