July 19,1920-February 25,1983

Its 1959 and the day is just like any other

They walk along that step in time

Holding eachother in true love

Soon they both become mine

They haven't found out just yet

It takes a few weeks to know

Just having a son, not planning another

Here he comes and they will love him so

He let her know he wanted out

Some months down the way

She smiled at him, held him close

And lived the love of that day

They went along and life couldn't carry

The body of the man that was there

I wonder, with everything that happened

But still I know he did care

She went on and continued what she started

To give up on us, she never did

Times got tough, life was really hard

She just got strong. She never once hid

Till the day came when hers was giving way

To the illness that would take her from me

She fought, she was so strong

But to continue, was hard for her to see

She stuck it out, but the illness was strong

It simply took her breath away

Eleven days after I took my wife

10:30pm Feb.25,1983

She has been gone since then

I think of her every day

Five minutes is all I would ask for

To show her how I found my way

I know that can't happen, but still, I can dream

I will see her again. That I have always known

Today is your day Mom, Happy Birthday to you

I know you are safe I'll see you when I get home
