My Morning

by John D Uzzell

Starting off the day with a simple hello
Getting out of bed, she is next to me
Looking over I see the love of my life
Staring right into her eyes as she is trying to see

Washing the sleep from her morning
She looks back toward me
Smiling, she offers her smile
An honor of being first to see

As she wakes, stumbling through the room
She makes her way awake
Knowing she is loved and wanting more from the time
Our lives together, the love we take

We hold it within and we share through actions
And we feel it in our touch
Eighteen years I have awakened to her
My love it is only for you, I love you so much
