I want to drown
to be submerged from the world
and left to drift amongst the ruins of Lemuria
but merely immersion in the oceans of heaven and hell
is not enough
I want to see the sun as I sink beneath
the greatest swells of angelic breath
my body filled with light and water
as I scream for forgiveness to the stars
pulled to unfathomed depths of an ethereal sea
where nereids dance to the music of mermaids
and the moon shines brightly but the sun is dead
I want to drown in the perfection of youth and beauty
while I watch your eyes reflected in the clouds
cleanse my sins with your tears
and baptise me with your body
and let me die a thousand deaths
within the furious storms of Venusian wrath
let Neptune's angry rain beat against my heart
and cover the world with a boiling flood
so that I may drown
and drown a hundred thousand times again
until my dreams have drowned as well
never to resurface but as ghosts
left to their lonely contentment
surrounded on every side
by ten million miles of floating silence
