Someone wrote to me,

“I like your mataphors.”

I believed it a typo,

but then I thought

that maybe he pictured

my figure of speech

a well-toned Spaniard

in bolero jacket

taunting el toro,

bull of inspiration,

massive and muscled,

teased to pass under

the red cape of form,

dancing around him,

so as not to be gored by

the horns of cliché.
