Little Eyes Smile

by Matt Forget

There he is
Lying in his crib
Sound asleep
The reflection of you
As you once were
That small
The little nose he has
Tiny little fingers and toes
And clothes
With his little blanky
And little stuffed toy
He sleeps

So gently do you look at him
Kiss his head
Feel the joys of being a brother
They are here
Here for you to experience
As he is experiencing you
For the first time

He awakes and looks at you
His eyes open wide
Sees your smile
Kicks and moves around
Giggles and smiles
As he stares at his brother
His first best friend.

*This poem is to my little bro. Even though he isn't born yet...I've had this thought in mind and wanted to put it down as fast as possible. I am excited to have a baby brother.*
