Autumnotopoeia by Bruce W Niedt
Dickering, jittering,
cross-concrete clattering,
battering gutters
like whittled-thin paper,
scratching and skittering,
dancing in dust-devils,
first leaves of fall
prattle and patter,
litter and rattle,
whisking grass, crisping streets,
cackle like witches in
bittering wind,
chanting, incanting,
wickedly whispering
riddles for listening:
winter,
winter.
