yellow is the color
that i really despise
because it isn't me
it's all a big disguise

it makes me look happy
even when i'm not
i have to hold on to that color
it's the only thing i've got

yellow was the color
that made me do what i had to do
i couldn't stand it anymore that day
i just wasn't in the mood

i couldn't try to be happy
i couldn't even pretend
i had to get rid of that disguise
i had to make it end

i couldn't stand the brightness
i wanted the world to be black
i really don't know what happened
i guess i just snapped

the girl her hair was yellow
her clothes were yellow too
the day was bright and sunny
i flipped---what else could i do

i grabbed her around the neck
with a hatred deep and red
it was all because of a color
and now the girl is dead

some people may say it's happy
but i know it's really a disguise
for i know that yellow is the color
that caused a girl to die
