(broken skin) libra & gemini by Richard Paezi remember the way i would bask in your light the way you would hide in my shadows libra and gemini balancing each other evolving each other creating and destroying each other
and now and now i carry this memory your light so bright inside me i cannot bear to look
my wings and my crosses
do you? do you carry a memory my shadows dark inside you a place where you still hide?
is it wings or crosses?
words whispering and weeping across the myriad miles two children of the garden arrested and on trial
living behind masks till masks were branded true while memories shed blood and blood dried into glue
he rages in the darkness she tucks away her light fate fades into love and love abstracts to "right"
while somewhere in lost gardens a pair of scales is tipped twins brothers stab each other and memories sink like silt 10/04/2001 Author's Note:
{This is one of the three poems published in the 2002 issue of the Eerie, the literary magazine published by Tallahassee Community College. I guess they like the poems from my ‘broken skin’ cycle.}

Posted by Michele Schottelkorb on 03/24/04 at 12:39 AM sometimes, poems can be so alien to us, especially if originally written with emotion that runs deeper than the sea... than, in latter years, it almost can serve as a foreign reminder of things that were and were not good... blessings to you for learning this and embracing it... (and, as for the poem itself, interesting and effective way to portray this relationship... libra and gemini) |
