[I]

Standing at the door...
Waiting to be let in...
But I don't know what to say.

All I know is I need to be
Somewhere from where
I can see the sky,
Watch the clouds,
And remember
Just how much world there is
On the other side of this wall.

Time to configure
Exactly what I'm doing
Would not be unwelcome here.

Trying to choose
The right things
So I can continue
Before the morning is over
And the sky can no longer be seen.

Finding my way...
Opening the right doors
In my hell hole home.

[II]

Swaying leaves, buffeted by rain,
Struggle beneath the clouds.

You took away my sky,
And now I thump the door,
Needing to get out,
To be somewhere...
Anywhere but here,
Anytime but now.

Thunder shakes the sky,
Knocks me to my knees
As I try to run away

But I can't stop wishing I was out there...
I can't stop wanting to feel the rain
Soaking through my clothes,
Running through my hair,
Feeling alive again...

But then the rain stops,
And the sky appears,
Naked over the dark towers
That comprise this insular world.

Still I want to be under it.
I scream and you don't hear me,
I wave and you don't see me,
I run and I fall over
And you don't help me up.
