fate

by Omi Salavea

to write a beautiful poem,
and leave it in the rain
Send away Mary Magdalene,
when sex is on the brain.
Plant firm roots into the ground,
still knocked over by the wind
Murder the preacher's son,
then confess that you have sinned...
...To have the world,
and throw it all away,
To never lose you, dearest friend,
I could only pray.
