Why is fate so unpredictable?
She strikes when you are
Not looking, and is never
There when you are seeking her.
She leads a game of cat
And mouse and never takes
Time to rest
She leads to dead-ends, and
When you try to get out, you
Find she has changed the paths
You would think to learn
Not to follow, yet time and
Time again, she attacks
Teases and taunts. When
you think she is but
in your grasp, she is not.
Why does she lead us
On these winding paths
And we follow yet we
know the easiest way
Is the straight one.
Shall we learn something
From the paths she leads
Or is it some cruel game
She and Life created
To amuse themselves?
