Big Brother

by Angela Hanska

You’ve gotten older and left home.
You still keep in contact, esp. when you’re so far away.
I think back to when we were kids, and fought with one another.
We yelled, screamed, rat and raved at each other, but heaven help the person who picked on the other, or came between us.
I often wish you were back home, so we could be a whole family again.
Well, it’s the holidays and you’re not here.
It’s the first time, and its hard.
I miss your wisdom, whit, and humor.
It will be a joyous day, when you come home to visit or to stay.

This is dedicated to my big brother, Stu.
