Queen of the Flowers

by Adrian Calhoun

Splendidly above her kingdom,
dew reflecting prisms.
Her skin, soft delicate petals,
she shimmers in the fresh mornings light.

Her radiant beauty,
for the worlds eye to behold.
Not only bringing joy,
but to sustain life.

Her majestic form,
an elegant state of grace.
Her sweet scent,
intoxicating.

Tempting it is to take her
from her throne.
Beware the thorns,
her royal guard.
The bee, her silent protector.

In time her beauty fades,
but not before gracing many lives.
Loyal subjects always admiring.

She,
is the rose.

*Smiles* from heaven. What a peach she was. And what a great honour to care for in her last days here. Wonderful, heartfelt tribute with much love shining through.
