God, it's cold again
the way air conditioning is cold
during the winter
when you leave the horrid chill
of frozen Everywhere
(snow covered and beautiful)
to enter some artificiality
seeking solitude and warmth
only to be met
by another gust of
not-quite-as-cold air
and that's somehow worse –
a betrayal of expectations
and hopes and logic –
than if you’d stayed
among the world of ice.
