descending in perfect stillness by Gary Hoffmanndescending in perfect stillness
as tiny as our lives
amidst the infinite darkness
of the infinite sky
reflecting back the moonlight
that reflected from your eyes
denied from eer touching ground
as only God denies
it will never grace the earth
impeded first by auburn hair
as it alights upon your head
to join a hundred others there
you look at me through liquid orbs
as deep and soft as only where
the sky and ocean chance to meet
you smile as only angels dare
the snowflake melts upon your head
from the perfection of passions heat
as your soft lips decide to press
against my own, and then retreat
after perfect breathless minutes
as our souls and bodies meet
mind in mind and legs entwined
I allow myself to concede defeat
go inside, our lust has won
go to bed, enjoy the night
carpe noctum, have our fun
innocence isnt worth the fight
be quiet now, the day is done
submit to fate, come what might
we kiss, we join, our bodies one
I cant believe it feels so right
breathing quickly, moaning softly
pray to God, you scream His name
arch your back, muscles tighten
moonlight dances across your same
lying softly now together
resting from when angels came
bringing back my soul to life
and I thank Fate that youre to blame
goodnight my dear, sleep you well
prepare you for tomorrows pain
for shortly after the sun arises
then will sorrow fall like rain
when well say our sad goodbyes
I sighing soft, you board the plane
then Ive lost you, gone again
in contrast of how much weve gained
