darkness weeps

by Gary Hoffmann

Darkness weeps for my soft demise
And watches me with loving eyes.
She wraps me in a warm embrace.
For I cannot see Her true size
Or gaze upon her wicked face.

But Death is patient, and long time waits
For my return, and still She baits,
In hopes to capture my empty soul.
And She, too, covers her dark traits
So I know not when I'll pay the Toll.

And across the bridge, "Have no fear,
the Darkness is much brighter here,
Warmer, too," and with that said
Death let forth a triumphant cheer
As on my blood my demons fed.

Strangely prophetic, this subtle work of Fate,
Full of righteousness and sanctimonious hate
For futures lost and pasts forgottern and nows
Cursed softly through the dim light of Her mate
Who ponders Death and fucks Her hows.

I see these dark hangmen of her remembrance
I've known this horror - some diseased chance
At life I take and lose it all to this pretty whore
Whom I pay to listen to these insane rants
While Death's tears beat 'gainst the shore.

As I fuck Fate with shattered heart
I see my soul darken and fall apart
And crumble silent to my feet
Where sits the object of my art,
She whom Destiny thinks as sweet

As brimstone on a salted tongue.
For when all the bells are rung
I will meet Her and She's my mate.
With torn heart and bruised lung
I'll turn from Void to meet my Fate.

Death! Come claim me you virgin whore
Whom life and Fate and all things abhor!
I ask you now, what's all this for!?
You have my soul, yet you want more?
Your arms shall embrace me evermore!
