and time flashes coldly past by Gary HoffmannAnd time flashes coldly past
all these frozen dreams of mine
-- so many bubbles colored floatingly
dance through my mind -- and signs
so beautiful on lupine hands point
out my defects and silently ponder
why I even bother to exist at all
for hands say nothing, yet I wonder
what I find so beautiful about them
oh, those hands - masterful silently
hide completely the soul behind them
I wish those hands would touch me gently
but the frozen bubble shatters when
it brushes against some strangers thumb
at a prettily wedding so full of despair
I'm not quite sure when made me numb
but the hand doesn't touch that
I yearn to feel again like long, long
ago when I was happy and moon shadows
danced freely to some summer night's song
now I dance softly alone in the darkness
to Jewel singing sadly and no soul around
nor mine and I cry in the blackness
because I'm alone so I kiss the ground
backwards and wish again in frozen time
to see those hands so silent remove
my heart and I curse the day I saw
the spider for that was the day I fell in love
