Farewell

I couldn't bring myself
To say the necklace was
My farewell gift,
So I just held it
Out and then
Listened to thank
You's and we hugged and kissed.
Later while the daughter
Snuck a peek from up the stair
We kissed and I tried to weld
Our souls while holding tight
To you, my love.
Fare well, farewell.
