You were gone from me for so long
Yet when you call its as though we never missed a beat.
We stayed on track, in sync
There is never a moment of discomfort
We can speak freely and not worry
Of the repricussions of our words
We both know that nothing can be held against the other
We love one another too much to ever let the each other get away again
We can talk for hours and still have more to say
Weeks, sometimes months, pass without a single word
Yet when you call it's as though we'd spoken just yesterday
That connection is just as strong today as it was three years ago
Our lives go on again as though we'd never missed a beat.
