Another Year

by Matt Forget

Another year has passed
The memories we shared then
The memories to come now
It's all new now
It will not be like before

A year in which I turned 18
Or the last trip we ever took
The friendships made and became so close
The work we did together
The tears spread when saying good-byes at graduation

The last few days with my friends
Problems with others created and continued
Began college and a new way of life
Exploring new possibilities
Still experiencing problems with others from home
Great in college, grades are up
Met new friends to hang with
Having fun, missing home
But still having those problems
Thanksgiving came and went
Family getting together
Problems arose after
Couldn't take anymore
Dropped them once and for all
Forever
Christmas came
Met with old friends
Celebrated
No problems ever came back

The new year is here
Another year
Will it be better than the last?

*What is odd about this poem is that the problem was ignored by me throughout the year. When the year was closing, I realized that this problem should have nothing to do with me. I go fed up and dropped the problem. It was hard but doen for the better. I ranng in the new year happy and glad that I'm starting fresh and new, never to deal with that problem again.*
