Accident (cont)

by Matt Forget

I saw the blood and felt the pain
As it now began to fill my brain
I was losing my sight and sound grew dim
I lost the functions of every limb
My breath grew weak and fell away
As my last thought of hope had saved the day
They came when time was almost gone
To save my life and let me live on
They gave strength and health to live
That thing that no one else could give
When I awoke, and then could see
There sat all my family
With tears of joy and greatful faces
Love and grace showed all embraces
And by the door, I saw my friend
The one from down, around the bend
She made her way right to my bed
Leaned over slightly and kissed my head
She said "I love you" and went to rise
But then she stopped and looked surprised
She saw a tear run down my cheek
"I love you too" I said real weak
I will never forget that awful day
Where my life was almost gone away.
