A look into Ourselves

by Stephanie Myers

Contemplating the fact that people are completely ignorant. I've decided that I am alone in this world of detriment. Turning left to right and seeing nothing but chaotic storms cross my path with the black cats of our luck. Chuck the luck out the window I say. Fate has a new calling card.

Driving along this shatter highway of our existence. Smelling the existential rot from the littered carcass's that have been hit and strewn along the soft shoulders of yesterday. Reminding ourselves of what we have not achieved and yet still have not known. Bearing down the descriptive histories and trying to accommodate our masses with treats from the little candy bags that are supposed to satiate the appetite. Leaving the others out to starve for what they are unable to comprehend.

Around the world goes, spinning on its axis, wobbling about from the unweighted hearts of men. Slowly unraveling from the thread it hangs upon, stripping the last moments of its life. It grows dim before my eyes, and I sometimes wonder if this is how God saw the creation of the universe. Slowly a dim light, then growing brighter with each passing day. That is in fact, if one believes in the creation of the universe from such an entity.

Again, we start out as infants, then turn into men. Alive from the first day we take a breath, and most knowledgeable with the mysteries of the multiverse slowly becoming numb and losing the education we were born with. Angels surrounding us with their wings, enclosing our embodiment with a power of protection to keep our fragile hearts from exploding from within our chests. All that surrounds us permeates our skin through osmosis, slowly gripping ahold of our veins and turning us into those we most despise. Even then, the ones we despise we most admire for their qualities to become something that we can never be, or even never attempt to be.
