my life is my world

by Angela Hanska

My life is my world
And to survive I must follow my instincts
Shying away at things that are to be feared
Wanting to stay where I feel safe

Yet when my instincts do not reply
I am lost and have no guide
When I am near you, they do not answer
How do you do that?

Yet on this path, and near you,
There are no signals or bells or caution
Nor is there joyousness or elation
It is as if they have disappeared

Where did you take them
Where have they gone
I wish you would please return them
For I need them to live long
