The Journal of Clara Mae Gregory

September 2015
03/02/2018 09:45 p.m.
September 2015 was the day our lives became grounded again and drastically changed. Our travels ended abruptly. Fleamarketing tapered off. The music scene was over. Our oldest son needed us desperately. His wife left him and their three kids and was granted custody. We agreed to take care of them, now 6,9 and 10. We traveled for three years after my mother passed. It was heaven. I knew instinctively that I had to do it or never do it for I would be needed. I was right. We have been on a farm in the middle of the state of NC now for three years taking care of our grandchildren, a cat, 2 goats and 8 hens. I am happy. We work hard but still can reserve a little play. In the next few upcoming weeks we will get to see live, once again, two bands we really enjoy- Dixie Dreggs and Railroad Earth. But mostly it is domestic drudgery. Our grandchildren are worth it.
