My great grandmother, Mae Gregory Hamner and Robert Hamner

My pen name was created by combining my paternal great grandmother's and my maternal grandmother's name. I am beginning to refine and research my roots, of which my memories of what little I do know, are starting to fade. Even so, my mother and father were from upstate New York and their family histories mingled in ways that often confused me. I grew up with treasured annual visits beginning in 1955 to Long Lake, New York.
