The Journal of Clara Mae Gregory untapped

I am so excited about this upcoming season and this coming weekend to kick things off.For us, second hand, antiques and collectibles- flea market business is an untapped market of treasures. We have been picking around Goldsboro the past three days and have acquired a fabulous inventory to work with. But I am on cloud nine at the moment over one of our most recent finds.I am pretty sure we have found a 5 lb[approx]cast pure solid silver leaf shape bowl. It passed the ice cube test and melted the ice super fast. It also has a ringed foot base and is marked. Numbers too, seem to indicate 80-85% purity.I am researching the mark with no success so far. I think it is old. There are more words on the bottom and a date but it is hard to read[1839? maybe]. So, we have to determine which way to go in evaluating it. As pure metal, valued at the going price of silver....well, I bought it for $5......so you see, science and knowledge goes a long ways in this game....the seller thought maybe it was aluminum.......I am pretty sure my days teaching in a public classroom are forever over. I am happy.
