Maybe we'll go to the zoo today!We have been babysitting the twins since Thursday.Robbie and family came Saturday and spent the night and we watched the game and Walking Dead[well, they did anyway,lol].Then I find out my oldest son's family has been without power for 3 days from the recent snow and ice storm that hit in Carolina[fortunately didn't effect us.]Power is expected to be restored by this Wednesday.They have no water because the well pump couldn't run...they've been staying warm by candlelight and wood burning in the fireplaces of their 1910 farmhouse.When I found out, I immediately found and booked us 2 hotel rooms for a few days at the Quality Inn for $55 bucks a night, thanks to Priceline. The rooms were hard to find and I was very lucky to get them in the first place. I had called several places that were all booked....there are power crews from all over the place....40,000 still without power.So here we are in Asheboro and I sure hope the zoo has power....the weatherman says it will be in the 70's today. The weather has been gorgeous these past few days...but rain is coming in midweek.
