The Journal of Alison McKenzie Kidney Stone

So, amidst the kidney infection, nasal infection, vomitting and 2 trips to the ER, it finally is untangled - it's a kidney stone.
And, he leaves in the middle of it all...Interesting. And sad.
Dr.'s appt tomorrow, and I'm thinking my own efforts to "flush" the thing out are not going too well. I just can't drink fast enough. The ER doc sort of prepared me to plan on being admitted. Thankfully my uncle is coming.
Oh, did I mention I have about the most EXCELLENT children on the face of the planet? Thank you, Jessica, for coming to my rescue at 3:30 am when I couldn't get a ride home from the ER.
Back to bed.
I feel like I've been repeatedly kicked in the back.
Listening to a revolution in my gut.

| Posted by James Zealy on 03/19/10 at 06:01 PM I have seen this play out with the kidney stones in my own household. Its ugly and painful. Only in my wife's situation, she has been having multiple cases of them over a years period of time. Some it I think can be attributed the fibromyalgia and all the meds she has to take. There is nothing worse than bladder spasms, it makes labor pains look like a walk in the park. |

| Posted by Shonda Chrissonberry on 03/19/10 at 11:32 PM I had a kidney stone back in November of 2008 and it was the most painful and most sick I have ever been. At one point I told the ER doctor....I can handle the pain, just give me something for the vomiting...he then said "Hun ~ it's the pain that is causing your body to vomit." WTH!!! So I know how bad it is. Wish I were there to make it better. Sending warm fuzzies, big hugs and get well prayers/thoughts your way. I love you Ali. :) |
