Death to the Nice Girl!
04/06/2009 03:56 p.m.

Our little dream group met last night. We have a new mantra to remind us that we do NOT have to be putridly nice to get by in life. Niceness is fine when it is authentic and it serves our needs as well as helping another person. But niceness for the sake of image, or for the sake of simply accommodating another instead of rocking the boat is not helpful at all. DEATH TO THE NICE GIRL!!!!

I am currently: Feeling empowered
Listening to: Niceness die a slow death

I try to be nice. I have a severe speech impediment and people think I'm mentally chalenged. It's hard to be nice to people when all they're doing is starring at you and judging you. I was in a drugstore yesterday, was buying a pack of cigarettes and explaining to the cashier, who is a real sweetie, that nicotine is actually GOOD for my condition. I could "feel" the woman behind me snickering and when i handed the cahier the money, the woman behind me actually took it, put it in my pocket, and zipped it! I was sooooooo embarrassed. SOMETIMES, it just doesn't pay to be nice! SORRY FOR THE VENT!
