I have to wonder if they're truly the way to get through to someone. With no intended jab at the integrity of poems, maybe music and words go where words alone will not.

| Posted by George Hoerner on 03/03/09 at 01:08 PM I think each has its place. I've seen even ee cummings put to music but I'm not convinced it works. I have a hard time with today's music. It seems more a performance than pure music. I know it is entertainment but I think there are far deeper issues. People talk about "being into it", almost as if it wouldn't exist without the crowd. Of course financially that is probably true. I'm just one those old dudes that hasn't kept up with the times. |
