The Journal of A. Paige White Sc-a(d)ven(t)ger hunt a great success!

What a wonderful Christmas this has been. Not to say it has been totally free of conflict, not by a long shot, but the joy of our Christ is massing, greater and greater in the hearts of my children. When we got back from Hattiesburg last night with Logan (his Christmas light looking "More lights! 's ona house!) had evolved into the most hilarious tone of voice coming from him with spotting certain decorations. He would scream, "More lights! Look, Nannay!" so hard I was scared he was going to have a sore throat this morning. Then as we had made at least twenty more blocks, he would deepen his voice, "Morrrrre Lights" 's ona house" so funny Chip had to stop the car to keep from wrecking. It was just perfect! He had found the perfect Christmas gift for Erin and Jonathan, new set of luggage at an unbelievable price and it was something they desperately needed since every trip they make they're always borrowing his and piecing together a set. Since they're going to Gatlinburg shortly to get married in the most romantic setting, it was just perfect. Jesus led him right to just what to get them. He gives full credit where credit is due. He got all three pieces for less than half of one, elsewhere. Katie is still not speaking to him (the conflict) but he left her gifts and a message with Erin to give her reminding her he wasn't ignoring her only honoring her request. When we got home there had been a blow up between Kim and Jarrod when she took off to her mom's(not wanting to go with them to look at lights) without leaving a note, left her purse and stuff so that it scared them all, really bad. Jarrod was so scared he was screaming and crying, from what megan said. After Gladys little visitor... anyway it all led them, Jarrod first to reading the bible together and Megan was still talking about how much better and at peace she felt this morning from it. Thank you Jesus for leading us, stupid sheep, with the heart of a shepherd who knows intimately the heart of each sheep and loves us without limit.
Logan was so adorable opening his gifts. It's the first time he's ever shown any interest in opening anything. He didn't even want to on his birthday last month and the way he showed off his clothes (which really surprised us all, who would have thought he'd have been so tickled?) is a memory I'll cherish forever.
The scavenger hunt went hilariously well. We stayed up til three o'clock figuring out four hints each for each card/person.
Jarrod won at cards first, then David at rolling a 2&5, then Megan at knowing the answer to a question leaving Kim as the loser who won with nothing lost, lol.
--------------------------------
Megan's four hints that included one letter of the final hint to the location of her gift card were:
O=a house mouse is a click away-under the mouse pad
U=Try eating your words to get the next hint-in the dictionary on the dining room table
C=Greet ur next clue with your feet as you keep the bricks neat-under the mat at the garage door
H=quit grilling us for clues-in the grill
*******************
the card was under the drivers seat of her car (a guy hit her passenger's door and she put an ouch sticker in the dent) and it was a most hilarious process.
----------------------------------
Kim's four hints:
W=your chances of winning are toast if you don't find this clue-in the toaster oven
A=This clue will cushion your love to win-under the loveseat cushion
S=Satisfy your pining to flirt by lifting this skirt - under the christmas tree skirt
H=If you don't find this clue you're washed up like dirty laundry-On washer under detergent
******
the card was in the shelf above the washing machine behind some stuff
-----------------------------------
David's four hints:
M=diffuse your clueless frustrations or pull out your hair- in the space between where the diffuser slides onto the blowdryer (he had an awful time with this, we finally relented and let Megan read it, she immediately knew right where it was, lol)
A=Get on top of finding this clue or you're getting colder (and hungry)-on top of the fridge
I=Picture the inside of a trashy shower habit -behind the picture of a tobacco harvest in my hall
L=If you can't pump a rock you can't find this clue - under one of the rocks in a circle under the pump in my front yard
********
His card was in the mailbox
------------------------------------
Jarrod's four hints:
F=This clue would heat a hobo- under the straw in our burn cauldron in the back yard
I=Not finding this clue will mow you down-hidden under the lawn mower
L=To stay right with yo mama, don't get booted before finding this clue-in my left boot by my closet (he was extremely indignant when he found it in the left boot instead of how the clue had read, lol)
E=table your coffee and shine the way to this clue - in the Stephen King book, "the shining" laying on my coffee table (he had an awful time with this one, kept wanting it to be in the kitchen somewhere even after we told him it was NOT in the kitchen near the coffee pot, lol)
*************
His card was in my filing cabinet close to the coffee table
---------------------------------------
It was so much fun and the kids had a blast, especially when they finally would find it and see just how much we had "clued" them in to the location of the next hint by using so much of where it actually was and just scrambling the words
It was great! I bet they want to do it again next year. We decided against hiding anything over at Gladys house.
I am currently Blessed
I am listening to pirates of the carribean 3
