The Journal of Cathlyn Cartier ACK!!
09/06/2007 01:33 p.m.
This day has started on the WRONG foot! I had starting out in a rush and running behind.
Oldest Son (OS) started his new medication last night. It's to be taken 3 times daily, AM before school, PM immediately after school, and PM at bedtime.
Well, one of the side effects is drowsiness, and he didn't get up this morning. His g/f called, and he went back to sleep, the phone alarm went off, he turned it off and went back to sleep. He missed his school bus this morning!
So mom (me), had to jump up out of bed, into the shower, and get dressed, and get out of the house early. I don't usually have to leave the house until 7 am, but I had to have him at school by 7 am, so.... ackkk... I hate rushing, but we got him there on time, so I guess it all works out.
OS needs to make sure he gets up tomorrow, because I can't be doing this every day.

| Posted by Alison McKenzie on 09/06/07 at 07:19 PM I also read your last few posts...MAN!!! Life is sure throwing it at you, isn't it?
I know what you mean about ex's. My current bf's ex is SOOOO vengeful!!! She's just slimy, and I'm sorry, but it affects me and my family as well.
Ooooh, sorry. Didn't meant to go off on a tangent. What I mean to say is.....Sweetie, I will pray for you and your family.
Your son's heart stuff is worrisome for sure, especially since he was short of breath and the report came back with the finding of some (mild?) pulmonary insufficiency (in layman's terms, if I have it correctly, it basically means that his heart is being congested by fluid, and that slows things down and causes the regurgitation, and in the big picture, means that his heart cannot do the job it needs to do of pumping the blood around, delivering oxygen and support to the viral infection. It can also be a contributing factor to his shortness of breath, so you were definitely right to take him to the ER!!). They probably have him on Lasix to get rid of some of the excess fluid, and then since Lasix can deplete his potassium levels, they probably have him on supplemental potassium as well?
Please remember to take care of yourself too, while you are tending to the needs of your family members, 'cause that will help all the way around. It sounds like everyone depends on you, and that can be a heavy load during chaotic times like the ones you've been having, so taking care of yourself will help all around.
I know, I know, it's technically none of my business and who the hell am I to say anything....But it's just that the tone of your posts is sooooo hectic I can feel your stress all the way in Oregon. *hugs* And, well, if you don't mind a new friend, I'm here if you need one. |
