Surprise, AZ - Southpaw Logan Jacob Bourgeau stepped up to the big leagues today, deftly snatching a baby bunny rabbit the size of a baked potato from under a bush earlier at Bourgeau Field in sunny Surprise, AZ. Capitalizing on the swift agility and singular 'fleet of paw' speed records that characterized his college career, Logan Bourgeau, in his debut at the ballpark named for his grandmother, Betty Bourgeau, bristled, sniffed the air, and dashed 20yds to the oleander bush which camouflaged his furry hossenfeffer prey.
"I didn't even have to think about it," said Logan, "when I saw the bush shaking and the bunny ears, I just knew what I needed to do. It's like primal instinct with me or something."
While interviewing the 4yr old orange tabby who hails from Acacia Creek, Scottsdale, I could see pride in his green almond shaped eyes. Truly a triumphant debut for this young feline rookie.

Following the play, Logan grumbled and became unruly as the referee removed the small mammal by the nape of the neck from Logan's jaws, returning him to the bush from whence he was kidnapped. His batting coach, Squeeks Bourgeau, pulled him clawing and snarling back into the dugout before he could be assessed a penalty.
Previously, Logan became a household name in his collegiate years when he attacked and killed a gecko at Acacia during his red shirt sophomore year. - Associated Press

This made me smile! I have three very athletic kitties in the backyard who have brought rats, squirrels and various birds and reptiles to the "dugout" (back porch). :)
