Ramblings
03/18/2006 05:23 p.m.
Sometimes, I like to use words incorrectly. I like to use nouns as adjectives. For example, if I'm describing a girls hair as dirty, I might say "Her dirt hair hung in matted curls." I could, just as easily say "dirty" but to me, using the word "dirt" carries with it texture and substance and seems more filthy than just dirty. I know I'm not the only one who does this.

I have company coming over tomorrow, so I have a ton of chores to do around the house. Laundry, sweeping, vacuuming... the list goes on. And did I mention that I hate housework. I'm in the wrong profession. LOL "Housewife" -cleaning is definitely in the job description.

I definitely get what you mean about the word 'dirt'. It's more stark and poignant. Words have power beyond the ink and pixels in which they are arranged. One person's ramblings become another's thought to ponder. Thank you.
