If you are ever so unfortunate...

as to get a ticket and need to take defensive driving to dismiss it, may I offer you a few suggestions based on my most recent agonizing experience....

1) Take defensive driving online or find a comedy place to do it... if you HAVE to sit in the same room for 6+ hours it's nice to have a few laughs, BUT if you do it online, you can sit around in your PJ's who's gonna know if you brushed your teeth or put on deodorant?

2) Order your Driving Record immediately! I ordered mine more than 3 weeks ago, it was supposed to be sent out in 3-5 days, but it's never come, I can't find my email receipt, and I have to have everything into the court by Aug. 8, SO, I get the pleasure of driving to the state capital tomorrow (almost a 4 hour drive one way) to try to get a copy while I wait and then try to make it back home before 2 so I can get some things taken care of at my school before I go back to work on Thursday.

3)If you're like me when you have the time to do it you don't have the money, or vice versa... find the money, and make the time, so you aren't pulling your hair out when it's T-7 days and counting... remember the online course.... some of them will give you 3 days or more to log in and out to complete the course, or if you have to wait until the holy terrors you gave birth to are in bed... well you get the idea.

The first ticket I've had in more than 5 years... Lord I hope it's at least another 15 before I have to do this again!
