Writing Again

Until the past couple of weeks, I hadn't written anything creative in over 9 years! When I was given the assignment of writing an original poem, I went about it groaning and complaining through about the first 5 or 6 lines. It was almost as if time had stolen away any ability I had all those years ago and it was really difficult for me at first. But once I worked through being creative again, I began to feel so excited. I was wondering why I hadn't written poetry in so long. Now, I think of lines and phrases when I'm doing the mundane! Baking cookies, folding clothes...I guess there's a little bit of inspiration in everything if you happen to be looking for it. It feels so good to be thinking creatively again. I never even missed it. Or at least, if I did, I didn't even know.
