facts and opinion...

out of the mouths of babes, c/o my daughter:

she is home from school today (tummy ache, not really *smile*), so we are sitting on the couch reading "the song of the zubble-wump"... she knows nearly half of the words and we've been reading it in sections... well, today, we get to the word "facts"... she looks at me and you can tell she is really thinking... she says "what's that word, you know, not fact, but..." i say "opinion?"... she says "yes"... i look at her and ask her how she knows that... and what does it mean to her... she says "mommy, a fact is when something is true and an opinion is when it's not always true, just your opinion, like, when my teacher says mary's hair is pretty, that is an opinion"... i, at this point, am just grinning at her... then she looks me straight in the eye and says "but mommy, your hair is a fact"... i love this kid... already knows the difference... yes, life is good...
