A Long Weekend

Had a 3 day weekend.. WOOHOO!

Friday I had a Drs. appt. the one that every woman looks forward to with great excitment and anticipation..... yeah, whatever... I'm hoping that test results are better than the visit was... keeping my fingers crossed at least.

Friday afternoon we loaded up the car with my two boys changes of clothes and drive-time entertainment, picked up his children and headed to the country for the weekend. No cable, no internet, and no reliable cell phone service...it was delightful! (not being sarcastic this time) We went horseback riding (found muscles I forgot about there), the two oldest boys (his son and my oldest son) got to steer the tractor, took down a couple of dead trees, etc.... I didn't have to do any of the cooking... that was probably the best for everyone.... We all enjoyed the weekend... Both of my boys said they didn't want to go home when we had to leave.

We are planning to go back in two weeks, this time we're going to take the dogs, since the person that was supposed to take care of them for me didn't follow through (at least there was only one surprise left for us when we got home).

It was absolutely wonderful, I haven't felt so much at peace or like I was where I belonged in a very long time.... maybe one of these days I can say good-bye to suburbia.
