All I could say was
goodbye to hide
what more lingered
on my tongue

What I meant to say
was that I love you, too

that my greatest fear
is having this lifetime
pass me by without you
beside me for the journey

that you are my first and
last thought every day

that if I had more courage
I would be there with you
tonight and ever after

Instead I am a fool
for leaving that room
and so are you
for letting me walk away
