slip sliding away
12/23/2004 05:23 p.m.
I have said it many times before, and I will say it again...
there is a reason I live in the South!

I DON'T LIKE SNOW
OR ICE
OR SLEET
OR ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THEM!

It is scary to see some Southerners dealing with all this mess. (me being first in line) When you are not accustomed to such conditions there will be issues when said conditions arise.
Or shall I say, fall. And fall it did. Sleet turned into snow that overnight turned into ice.
It is really pretty and neat to play in especially since we don't get to experience winter weather that often; but we can't get the good "drivable" white stuff. No, we get the shiney-slip-and-fall-flat-on-your-keister white stuff.
The roads are frozen solid with at least 2 inchs of ice.
Tried to get to work. Didn't happen. Got 5 blocks from my house and had to turn around. I-40 is at a standstill. It is taking over 4 hours to make a trip that usually takes about 20 minutes. And I was just trying to get to work. Most of the people on the interstate are trying to get home for Christmas.

So, here I am. Inside all nice and toasty warm. Sending out a prayer to all of those who are braving these bad roads. God speed you weary travelers. May you safely arive at your destination. And my you have a very blessed Christ-filled holiday.
I am currently Cool
I am listening to nothing ~ again.

Yahy, the nearer your destination, the more you're slip slidin' away...lol. I live in the one part of Canada that regularly does not get snow, so it's usually the same scene up here. Have a Merry Christmas :)
