cat scratch fever and the impish brilliant mind...
07/17/2004 02:55 p.m.

ah, life is indeed a strange place... yesterday, i was attacked (no, really), but my 5 pound mommy kitty, Chi... she beat the fire out of me (although, i think her target was my 140 pound lump of love neo mastiff...) the attack was so ferocious, i thought it was the dog... until i whirled around and saw the cat flying through the air and landing on my sweet Gwen's back, swiping at her head...

ok, i know the cat's had kittens, but she has been a bit off for a long time... and now i'm wondering if this is the real reason behind my poor dog's neurosis... she's getting the crap beat out of her by the cats... Merlin, my car-hitting lovely tabby, took three swipes at the poor thing the other day... just for walking by!!... no wonder my dog is skittish... or, maybe not... i don't know... but what i do know is, i have several gashes on my upper thigh and five puncture wounds on the back, where she held on... bled for four hours... funny, now she's sitting here next to me eating peacefully, with Gwen asleep on the floor... same area, no kittens around... wonder if psycho momma kitty will play nice...

ok, now here is the absolutely hilarious part... i called my daughter from work yesterday and asked how she was doing... said "i don't care what you do today, as long as you do NOT touch the kitties"... guess what my four year old little wonder said, without missing a beat?  "ok, so, you don't care if i smoke?"... i stammered out, "well, of course i do"... to which she promptly replied "do you care if i drive a car?"... "no, you can't drive a car"... "well, can i do baaaaaaaaad things, mommy?... hmm?"... and she starts giggling hysterically...

i laughed the rest of the day at work... legalistic little ball of love... LOL…

we had a scary incident with our cat on Christmas Eve. We had our son's cat visiting and as Penny Lane (ours) doesn't always share territory well with other pets except the kitties she used to live with, my daughter stepped in between the two cats once and boy, did she get in the face by her beloved Penny Lane. I was so upset. I know they're animals and don't remember or think they're lashing out at those they love and who take care of them, but it was awful. She didn't get deep scars, some very slight ones, but I was so upset. But everyone says you can't blame a cat when it's reacting to another animal and the human gets in between? Hope you don't have any lasting marks.
